Process Engineer Intern

STOCK PREP

Summary:   The Process Engineer Intern assists with optimizing manufacturing systems and processes. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide Stock Prep team support as directed.
  • Learn and apply knowledge within the Stock Prep field.
  • Develop operator interfaces to promote efficient operation, effective standard operation procedures, and improved process monitoring of key operating parameters.
  • Work with stock prep manager in the execution mill goals.
  • Coordinate work with other groups within the company.
  • Assist employees in gathering and analyzing data used in continuous improvement efforts.
  • Assist in maintenance projects that involve instrumentation and process control.
  • Assist operations in planning, prepping, and managing shutdown jobs.
  • Works in a manner consistent with safety for all parties and promotes safe working practices.
  • Other functions as assigned.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and works with moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places, outside weather conditions and extreme heat (summer). The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud. Employees are required to wear personal protective equipment including Head, Hand, Foot, Eye, and Ear protection.

 

What we're looking for:

  • Current Mechanical/Chemical Engineering student
  • Strong time- management, organization, and prioritize skills with the ability to multitask and meet multiple concurrent deadlines
  • Ability to learn various Company software packages
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office products
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills; interact well with all levels of organization.
