Exceptional Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) Opportunity

Full-Time · 30-35 hrs/week · Memory-Care Program | Inpatient Correctional Setting

Why You’ll Love This Role

  • Build Something New – Help refine a ground-up rehab service for memory-care patients; your ideas shape daily workflows and treatment protocols.
  • Autonomy + Collaboration – Treat 1:1 while partnering with an on-site OT, nurses, and interdisciplinary providers who value teamwork over hierarchy.

  • Assist in evaluating and progressing individualized care plans for patients with dementia and related conditions.
  • Track and document outcomes, reporting changes promptly to the OT and broader care team.
  • Educate patients—and staff when appropriate—on safe transfers, fall-prevention, and cognitive-compensation strategies.
  • Uphold a culture of safety by maintaining equipment, following security protocols, and ensuring a therapeutic environment at all times.

Qualifications

What You’ll Bring

  • Accredited OTA degree and active (or eligible) Ohio OTA license with NBCOT certification.
  • Experience in geriatrics, or memory-care populations.
  • Ability to work confidently and independently while staying in close alignment with your supervising OT.
