Position Summary
Trinity School is seeking enthusiastic and responsible individuals to join our Before and After School Program team, who is responsible for creating a safe, engaging, and supportive environment during student before and after school activities. This role involves supervising children during indoor and outdoor play, facilitating age-appropriate activities, and ensuring a positive experience that supports social, emotional, and physical development.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and monitor the safety of children at all times.
- Lead and assist with activities including arts and crafts, sports, games, homework help, and enrichment.
- Foster a positive environment that promotes respect, responsibility, and kindness.
- Build strong, supportive relationships with children, families, and staff.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of program areas and materials.
- Enforce program rules and handle behavior management in a constructive manner.
- Communicate effectively with parents/guardians and staff regarding child behavior, participation, and concerns.
- Ensure compliance with program policies and licensing regulations.
- Participate in regular team meetings and training sessions.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be at least 16 years old.
- High school students must provide an approved work release form.
- Ability to work a minimum of three days per week.
- Experience working with children in a group setting (e.g., school, camp, daycare).
- Must pass a background check and meet licensing requirements, including:
- CPR/AED and First Aid Certification
- Health and Safety Training
- ADA and Medication Administration Certification
- Ability to stand, walk, and actively engage with children for extended periods.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Emotional intelligence and flexibility to respond to varying student needs.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 90-hour certification in school age childcare or equivalent approved college coursework.
- Interest in pursuing a career in education, child development, or youth services.
Compensation
The starting hourly rate is $16.00, with potential for a higher rate depending on prior experience and educational background. This position offers 10 to 20 hours per week, with scheduling flexibility based on mutual availability.
Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of the Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) background check and the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) employment history review.
