Seeking a Part-Time Wellness Veterinarian, Part-Time Surgeon, or Full-Time Veterinarian!

About PAAC:

People Assisting Animal Control (PAAC) is a mission-driven nonprofit organization and the largest high-volume spay/neuter and wellness clinic in South Texas. We provide accessible, high-quality veterinary care to underserved communities and are proud to be at the forefront of animal welfare solutions in the region. With major expansion plans underway, including a new state-of-the-art facility, this is an exciting time to join our growing team.

Position Overview:

PAAC is hiring a licensed veterinarian for either a full-time or part-time position. We are looking for candidates interested in wellness services, spay/neuter surgery, or a combination of both. We offer flexibility in scheduling, an excellent support team, and high-volume training for veterinarians who want to grow their surgical skills. This is a high-impact role within a compassionate, community-focused organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform spay/neuter and other surgical sterilizations (if assigned to surgery)
Provide general wellness services including exams, vaccinations, and basic sick care (if assigned to wellness)
Conduct post-op exams and ensure high standards of patient care
Supervise controlled substance handling in accordance with regulations
Participate in staff training and team collaboration
Assist with protocols to ensure smooth clinic operations

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:

You will collaborate closely with fellow veterinarians, technicians, and support staff to ensure smooth clinic operations and a positive experience for both pets and their owners.

NEW FACILITY IN PROGRESS:

We have secured land and finalized architectural plans for a new, state-of-the-art clinic that will greatly expand our capacity and reach. This exciting project will allow us to serve even more animals across South Texas.

Salary:

$165,000–$200,000 per year (full-time equivalent; part-time salary prorated)
Lower starting salary during training with structured increases

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree
  • Current Texas veterinary license (or ability to obtain)
  • Experience in high-volume settings is a plus but not required
  • Strong surgical skills or willingness to train in high-volume procedures
  • Alignment with PAAC’s mission and a desire to serve underserved populations
