Salary: $48,166 - $89,645  According to the Teacher Work Agreement

Description of District / Program:
St. Francis Area Schools is seeking a dedicated and skilled math coach to join our instructional leadership team. This TOSA (Teacher on Special Assignment) position is designed to support high-quality mathematics instruction across the district. The Math Coach will work closely with teachers, school leaders, and fellow instructional coaches to improve instructional practices, align with the new Minnesota math standards, and ensure all students receive engaging and effective math instruction.

Qualifications:

 

  • Valid tier 3 or 4 Minnesota teaching license in Mathematics (required).
  • Demonstrated success teaching mathematics with evidence of student achievement growth.
  • Experience in a coaching, mentoring, or leadership role preferred; must demonstrate strong collaboration and communication skills.
  • Deep content knowledge in mathematics, instructional strategies, and formative assessment.
  • Ability to effectively support adult learners and lead professional development.

 

Summary of Duties:

 

  • Provide classroom coaching and job-embedded professional development to support effective math instruction district-wide.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Curriculum and Instruction and other instructional coaches to align coaching practices, share resources, and support cross-content instructional strategies.
  • Facilitate teacher learning through modeling, co-teaching, data analysis, lesson design, and professional learning communities.
  • Support the implementation and understanding of the new Minnesota math standards across grade levels.
  • Coordinate and promote participation in math competitions and other student math enrichment opportunities.
  • Analyze student achievement data to inform instruction and support academic growth in mathematics.
  • Serve as a resource for high-leverage math instructional practices, differentiation, and curriculum alignment.

  • Analyzing and interpreting data to make instructional decisions
  • Collaborate with others with a positive attitude and solution focused
  • Support teachers and administrators in the use of data through coaching methods
  • Experience using multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS)
  • Highly organized
  • Excellent interpersonal skills

 

Preferred Skills:

 

  • Experience with Math Masters or other academic competition programs.
  • Familiarity with data-driven instruction and collaborative team processes.
  • Professional development experience
  • Experience in Professional Learning Communities (PLC)
