I loved being able to disconnect from my normal world and make deeper connections in the new world I was exploring. With no phone service, WiFi, tv or computers I was able to live 3 months finding myself, making lifelong friendships and living a life I knew I was meant to live.
What I wish was different
I wish my season was longer!
Advice
Go in without expectations, and do everything you’re afraid to do while being there. Come out a new person.

What I liked
I loved living in the Grand Canyon, and working directly on the rim of the canyon. I really liked the travel work experience, and the attitude of young people that also do that.
What I wish was different
I wish I had had a car.
Advice
It was incredible. You don't need internships to be successful - just enjoy your summer and take time to see the world and meet people with diverse backgrounds (unlike at Hamilton!)

An excellent opportunity to experience the unique beauty of Yellowstone National Park and meet people from all over the world.

The pay is relatively low, but you don't have to worry about living costs. Living costs automatically come out of your pay check.

Bridge Bay Marina Cashier
May - August 2018 • Yellowstone National Park, WY
What I liked
Working in a national park is an experience I would suggest to anyone. I was able to live and work with people from all over the world and do the things I love everyday. For three months straight I saw some sort of wildlife everyday whether it was a buffalo or bear. Yellowstone National Park is an ever changing place and I saw first hand the life it has to offer. I was able to spend my weekends hiking and exploring the great outdoors. I loved being able to explore new places, learn new things, and meet new people. It was an experience I will never forget and I hope to go back next year!
What I wish was different
I wish that the living situation would have been a little nicer as it was dorms, but they were quality dorms for the experience.
Advice
Go on an adventure, take a chance! I went into this experience not sure what to expect as I didn't have any friends going with me and I was giving up my summer at home. It was so worth it! I met so many new people and went on countless adventures that created memories to last a lifetime.

What I liked
I loved having the opportunity to meet new people and also have the chance to help guests and potentially positively impact their vacation experience.

This position is not my favorite and I am striving to be hired for a security position next summer. Due to the recommendations my managers gave I will hopefully be given that job.
Advice
