UKG

Intern

June - September 2019 • Lowell, MA

What I liked

Everyone at Kronos was always so nice and helpful. If I ever had a question I could ask anyone and they would answer with a smile on their face. The friendly environment made it a desirable place to work. On top of the culture I had the opportunity to work with two teams so I gained knowledge from multiple departments; it was a great learning experience!

What I wish was different

Advice

I believe the reason I got hired was partly because of the school. I applied to a co-op at Kronos last year. Although I didn't get the job I did gain contacts at Kronos. I did end up getting another co-op for that rotation, but as the summer was approaching I still wanted to explore working at a technology company. So I reached out to the contacts that I gained at Kronos and told them about my co-op experience and what skills I gained. I ended up getting an interview through those email transactions and getting the job after a couple of rounds of interviews. So the piece of advice I want to give to other students is to be ambitious and resilient. Don't give up on a company if you think you want to work there. If you don't get the job you are going for take another position, gain some experience and reapply.

Employee communications

January - May 2019 • Lowell, MA

What I liked

I liked my team overall and the companies culture

What I wish was different

My manager was not great, I felt right from the start she did not like me or want me there even in the interview. It was a bit of a hostile work environment

Advice

Don’t hesitate to ask what you are doing wrong even if you don’t think you are, if you get the feeling your boss is unhappy but they themselves won’t tell you why, ask. Your job could be on the line without you knowing.
